Jim Collins is senior advisor for Castle's business and strategic corporate development efforts, as well as public affairs counsel for Castle clients. Elected to legislative office in Massachusetts, Jim's experience in government and community affairs includes federal, state and local jurisdictions. His clients have included Boston University, Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc., Tufts University and The League of Community Banks.

As a registered lobbyist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for more than a decade, primarily as regional vice president for Cassidy and Associates Inc., the largest independent lobbying and public affairs firm in the U.S., Jim advised banks, universities, unions, trade associations and corporate clients on the process of government and the influence of pressure groups on public policy. He also served as legislative secretary to Governor Edward J. King after serving as the State Representative for the Second Suffolk District.

Over a 25-year career as a manager, advisor and lobbyist, Jim has maintained personal, political and professional relationships with a range of government officials, many of whom were colleagues. Immediately prior to Castle, he balanced his government expertise by providing sales, marketing and business development advice to companies seeking business in both public and private sectors.

At Castle, Jim's responsibilities include sourcing new public relations and events management business as well as raising the company profile in both the private and public sectors. In this capacity, his role is to identify relationship marketing, sales augmentation and selective public affairs opportunities for Castle clients. Jim also develops initiatives to identify strategic partnerships, alliances and acquisitions in support of Castle's continued growth.

Jim has a master's degree in public relations from the College of Communication at Boston University and a baccalaureate degree in urban planning and mathematics from University of Massachusetts at Boston.
