Topic: Our Business Networking Reception, generously hosted by Merrill Lynch, included presentations by our new members. In addition, we introduced the Chamber’s programs and events for the 2009/2010 season. This was a great evening to network and connect with colleagues of the FACCNE. Those in attendance relaxed, mingled and learned more about other members and our organization.

Topic: The French-American Chamber of Commerce (FACCNE), in collaboration with Vacovec Mayotte and Singer LLP, Crystal Finance and Francois Ducroux, was pleased to present our second Estate, Health and Tax Planning roundtable for French citizens in the US. Our three experts informed the audience of mostly French expatriates of the intricacies of the US tax system. This event was courteously hosted by the International School of Boston

Oct. 26, 2009: European-American Biotech Ventures

When: Monday, October 26, 2009, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Where: Boston University School of Management
Topic: ADERLY presented this workshop, which described the key benefits that make Lyon, France, a global hub for US biotech companies in Europe, with a focus on entrepreneurship. French-American, European-American, and global biotech companies that have successfuly started up operations between Boston and the Lyon region introduced themselves and shared their experience with entrepreneurs and companies in search of the most favorable environments for their business. Included a keynote chat with MIT Professor Robert Langer, the dean of area biotech entrepreneurs.

What: The French-American Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Arnold Worldwide, was pleased to organize one of the biggest food and wine celebrations dedicated to the Bordeaux region in Boston. Guests experienced an amazing variety of gastronomic specialties and fabulous wines from Bordeaux and the Aquitaine region and enjoyed a fantastic auction with specialty items from France and New England, for the benefit of the FACCNE.

Nov 19, 2009: European Energy Event

When: Thursday, Nov 19, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:30 PM
Where: Ernst & Young, Hancock Tower, Boston MA
Topic: Green Energy: What can we learn from Europe's experience?
The FACCNE was happy to collaborate with the Swiss American Chamber of Commerce and the German American Business Council to present this fascinating energy event. An expert panel discussed clean technology in terms of solar and nuclear energy, wind power, and global implications.  
We were lucky to have as our moderator Warren Leon, Adjunct Professor at Brandeis University’s International Business School and consultant to the Clean Energy States Alliance. Mr. Leon is the Former Director of the MA Renewable Energy Trust, Executive Director of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association, and Deputy Director for Programs at the Union of Concerned Scientists.
