During an interactive breakfast presentation, Nathalie and Steve will offer an overview of litigation in U.S. courts. They will discuss their firm’s experience dealing with various areas of litigation, such as international arbitration, employment, commercial/competition, real estate, intellectual property and white-collar criminal cases. The panel will also offer perspective on how to navigate the American court system whether you are an entrepreneur, a corporation or an individual litigant. During this presentation, you will learn about:

• The different types of venue (courts, arbitral tribunals and administrative bodies)
• What to expect if you file a lawsuit or defend a lawsuit (procedure in civil cases)
• Ways to resolve matters out of court (alternative dispute resolution)

About the Speakers

NATHALIE K. SALOMON is counsel in the Boston law firm of Fitch Law Partners LLP. Nathalie is a native born French attorney who has spent over a decade litigating complex commercial disputes from inception through trial. Nathalie has extensive experience in appeals, successfully arguing before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court. Nathalie’s practice currently focuses on real estate litigation, business litigation and employment litigation. She represents both corporate and individual clients. Nathalie is a graduate of Boston University School of Law (2002). She has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in the Massachusetts Super Laws’ list published in the Boston Magazine.
STEPHEN C. REILLY is a partner in the Boston law firm of Fitch Law Partners LLP. Steve graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1989. He earned his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, in 1986 from Middlebury College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. His practice focuses on general commercial litigation, with particular emphasis on the defense of banks and other financial institutions. He has appeared in both state and federal trial and appellate courts in Massachusetts. He has represented clients before state and federal administrative agencies. Since 2004, Law & Politics has recognized Steve as a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer” in its annual list published in Boston Magazine. Steve is fluent in French.
