With minimal supervision, the Junior Business Partner, Human Resources is responsible for providing PUMA North America’s Field Retail Team, with support and expertise in all areas of Human Resources Management.  This includes employee relations counseling, leadership coaching, performance management, progressive disciplinary action application, training, recruiting, payroll & timecard management and administrative support at the field level.  The Junior Business Partner, currently supports 34 stores with 500+ employees throughout the continental US and Canada.

 

YOUR MISSION:

  • Build strong relationships with Field Leadership Management.
  • Maintain ownership for providing direct support for a group of stores around the country.
  • Act as the liaison for our Canadian Retail Stores in the areas of policy and process translation.
  • Be the main point of contact for translation for the Canadian Retail Stores.
  • Provide effective, creative and objective employee relations support for the field functions through coaching, policy interpretation, progressive disciplinary action and incident investigation.
  • Initiate and oversee store investigations in collaboration with third party investigators; investigate employee issues and recommend appropriate action, partner with internal legal counsel.
  • Manage the new hire and yearly required training opportunities for Field employees, including but not limited to, harassment and discrimination prevention training.
  • Management of the Canadian Retail Handbook and the maintenance of internal policies and procedures.
  • Administer the monthly average hours report for the U.S. Field, to maintain compliance with ACA Regulations.
  • Manage and maintain the Labor Law Posters for the Field, including but not limited to, new orders, replacements and communicating updates.
  • Oversee the responses to Glassdoor posts for the Field. 
  • Responsible for the creation and management of Performance Action Notices related to attendance and small cash variances.
  • Ensure compliance with US Federal, State, and City labor and employment law as well as Canada Provincial labor and employment law. 
  • Participate in HR department projects as needed.
  • Represent the Corporate Values – Brave, Confident, Determined and Joyful, in all decisions, actions, processes and practices

YOUR TALENT:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a HR Generalist, with experience in a Retail environment preferred.
  • Fluent in French speaking and writing skills required.
  • Workday experience beneficial.
  • Must possess demonstrated results providing effective employee relations coaching and counseling.
  • Must be flexible and comfortable with managing multiple priorities.
  • Essential to be detail oriented, creative, and possess strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Must be a self-starter with proven ability to work independently.
  • Results oriented with ability to work within demanding times frames.
  • Working knowledge of state and Canadian labor laws a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of US and Canada labor law and compliance
