NETVA 2014 - Welcoming Cocktail [Register here]

 

From September 29th to October 3rd, the Office for Science & Technologies will host 5 startups for the now famous NETVA immersion week!

During this week, the 5 frenchy entrepreneurs will benefit from courses on “how to make business in the US”, personal appointments designed to address their key strategic needs, and several social events allowing them to feel the core of Boston vibrant ecosystem.

In order to warmly welcome our entrepreneur delegation, we invite all the OS&T friends and community to come for a welcoming cocktail. As a french community pre requisite, cheese and wine will be served.

== EVENT WILL BE IN FRENCH ==

Here is a quick description of their activities:

- Adionics: develops a new technology to desalinate any salty water (included seawater) and to democratize access to desalination.

- Emosis: focuses on the development and commercialization of an unparalleled in vitro diagnostic system, to routinely diagnose and assess hemostasis disorders.

- NAWATechnologies: develops and industrializes a new generation of ultra-capacitors.

- Prodontis: develops a connected medical device providing an automated tooth cleaning in order to treat periodontal disease.

- SurgiMab: provides oncology surgeons with an intraoperative surgical assistance technique that will allow them to visualize infra-clinical size tumors invisible to their naked eyes during surgery.

PITCH BATTLE NETVA - MassChallenge [Register here]

 

This event will bring together entrepreneurs from France (NETVA laureates) and entrepreneurs from MassChallenge to face off with their elevator and longer pitches, an opportunity for both groups to improve their skills in front of their peers and develop a growing network across the Atlantic. 

Each people in the audience will be able to vote for their favorite participant. Come join us for what promises to be an incredible opportunity to engage with French and International entrepreneurs in a fun and dynamic environment!


The grand winner of the competition will win a prize of $500 in cash, offered by our generous sponsor: Marie Landel & Associates


In addition to the Pitch Battle, we are pleased to announce the participation of scouts from Saint-Gobain NOVA External Venturing and Sanofi-Genzyme BioVentures, a special opportunity to meet one-on-one with top subject matter experts and discuss key factors in growing your business. Experts will include:

  • Dorothee Martin, Project Leader at Saint-Gobain External Venturing.

NOVA External Venturing is the Saint-Gobain unit dedicated to developing strategic partnerships between the Group and start-up companies all over the world. Our mission is to combine projects from innovative start-ups with the industrial and commercial assets of Saint-Gobain, so as to increase the partners’ innovative capacities. 

The External Venturing team serves as a unique interface for start-ups and helps create and develop links with all the Group’s activities.


  • Ann De Witt, Senior Director, Investments at Sanofi-Genzyme BioVentures. 

Sanofi-Genzyme BioVentures (SGBV) is the corporate venture capital arm of Sanofi. Previously known as Genzyme Ventures, SGBV has a recently expanded mandate to invest across the more expansive business footprint of Sanofi. SGBV is an important component of Sanofi’s broader global strategy to invigorate external innovation and research. SGBV only invests in early stage companies with promising new products that may be future Sanofi pipeline candidates.

Today, SGBV has assembled a portfolio of direct equity investments in a variety of promising innovative life-science companies.
