Heidi Sprang is a seasoned biopharma executive with over 20 years of experience driving business strategy, partnerships, and commercial execution across emerging and global life sciences companies.
Since 2023, she has launched her own consulting practice, partnering with biotech leadership teams to support corporate development efforts and shape commercial strategies and plans.
Previously, Heidi was Vice President, Strategic Alliances and PCV Business Operations at Moderna, where she managed the partnership with Merck for Moderna’s personalized cancer vaccine program, enabling cross-company collaboration and decision-making on development strategy as well as complex manufacturing and clinical interfaces.
Prior to Moderna, Heidi served as Senior Vice President of Strategy, Planning, and Alliance Management at Akebia, where she led execution of multiple global collaborations for vadadustat, a novel treatment for renal anemia, advancing the program through U.S. and EU regulatory filings and launch preparations. Earlier in her career, Heidi held a variety of commercial roles of increasing responsibility in marketing and market access at Baxalta, InterMune, Actelion, and Genentech/Roche.
She brings a unique perspective shaped by the diversity of her experience across commercial, strategic, and operational roles, and by navigating alliances from both functional and executive leadership positions.
Heidi holds an MBA in Finance and Healthcare Management from The Wharton School and a BA in Chemistry from Vassar College.
