Samir Karoum is the Founder and General Partner of Bombellii Ventures, established in 2025 to back exceptional early-stage founders who transform seemingly impossible climate challenges into scalable AI and software solutions.
Previously, Samir served on the Executive Committee of Technip Energies as Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer, where he led the Group’s global strategy, M&A, corporate innovation, sustainability, marketing, and digital transformation.
With over 20 years of leadership experience across the energy, digital, and mobility sectors, Samir has held senior roles at Schneider Electric, Alstom, and Areva, managing large P&Ls and driving transformation across complex global businesses. His international career has taken him across France, Algeria, Turkey, the UAE, and the U.S., enriching his global perspective and operational expertise.
Samir brings a rare combination of deep domain knowledge in infrastructure (power plants, substations, LNG, petrochemicals, rail, sustainable aviation and maritime fuels), technology (green hydrogen, power-to-X, carbon capture, sustainable chemicals, waste-to-X), and digital innovation (ADMS, DERMS, VPPs, microgrids). This cross-sector fluency positions him uniquely in the realms of energy transition, climate innovation, and sustainable business.
Recognized as a thought leader in sustainability and innovation, Samir holds an engineering degree from ESTP, and has completed executive programs at Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, Wharton, and INSEAD.
Outside the boardroom, Samir is a former international judo athlete, professional dancer and choreographer, and a published author.
