The Consulate General of France in Boston is looking for a motivated student enrolled full-time in an American university to join its Office for Science and Technology.
This internship is a great opportunity for students who want to develop their scientific research curiosity, their writing, and organizational skills, and understand local and French academia. The candidate will be working on several projects dealing with research and innovation, startup, science and technological issues.
Qualifications:
• Be enrolled in a Massachusetts university or college, a graduate or undergraduate program in Science and Engineering, Economy, International Relations, or another related field
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and take initiative
• Ability to communicate concisely, accurately, and clearly both orally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Some knowledge of the French language is a plus
Responsibilities:
• Work within the Office for science under the supervision of the Scientific Attaché
• Assist the Attaché in monitoring scientific breakthrough and local news for weekly reviews
• Assist the Attaché in organizing scientific meetings and research lab’s visit
• Assist the Attaché in organizing meetings in the Boston area for French Startups
• Write articles summarizing the meetings and the visits
• Assist the Attaché in doing analytical documents on local scientific and technological news
• Help with general administrative tasks such as updating contact lists, event logistics, etc.
• In-person attendance for special events may be required
Interns will not receive any financial compensation.
The intern must provide proof of civil liability insurance at their own expense or through their parents/university.
