2024 International Women's Day

🌟 Happy International Women's Day! 🌟

On March 7, 2024, we were privileged to co-host an impactful event alongside the German-American Business Council of Boston, Inc.; SACC-NE (The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce New England); and the British American Business Council of New England (BABCNE). All these impactful organizations are led by four remarkable women: Emily Westhoven, Magdalena Huber, Urszula Wojciechowska, M.B.E., and Ludivine Wolczik.

4 accomplished women generously shared their journeys navigating the intricate landscape of entrepreneurship. Moderated by Kara Lund, Founder and CEO of Lund Global Coaching & Consulting, the conversation was nothing short of enlightening and motivating. Our esteemed panel of speakers included: Floris Engelhardt, Co-Founder and CEO, Kano Therapeutics - Marie Meslin, Managing Director Center For Entrepreneurship Education & Global Entrepreneurship Leadership Team, Northeastern University - Darlene Hollywood, Founder and Principal of Hollywood Agency - Kaarina Kvaavik, Fractional CXO, Growthimpact.

The panel discussed a recent Forbes article, shedding light on the sobering fact that only 1.9% of venture capital funding is allocated to women-founded startups. (link to the article: https://lnkd.in/gCBfCrbF)

This stark reality underscores the critical role of Women's Organizations and Communities in continuing to champion the achievements of women and advocating for equitable opportunities in entrepreneurship.

At FACCNE, we are keenly aware of the significance of this issue and remain steadfast in our commitment to action. We take pride in our ongoing efforts to strive for gender balance, with initiatives such as having 47% women on our Board of Directors and electing Loredana Vieil as Vice-President earlier this year.

In the future, we are continuously dedicated to our commitment to advancing events like these and expanding FACCNE's reach to offer constant support for women in business through our Women in Business forum, co-led by Karen Pevenstein and Nicole Ferry-Lacchia.
